Hippie Bling is a Thing

The words “hippie” and “bling” seem to go together like “Amanda Bynes” and “sanity,” but thanks to a generation overwrought with music festivals, hippie bling is totally a thing. It can be crowns at Coachella, bracelets at Bonnaroo, or embellishments at EDC. I’m going to go ahead and confess that I’ve never been to a music festival (which makes me not yet a human being these days) but I have extensively studied all my friends’ festival styles who have been (AKA all of them), so below is some blinging fest-spiration I have compiled for your summer escapades:

Just because you’re in a field picking daisies, doesn’t mean you have to forego shiny golden arm cuffs and piles of rings.

A key to mastering hippie bling is making sure you don’t leave the house (or tent, or whatever) without some sort of jewels/children’s birthday confetti on your face/eyes.

No children’s birthday confetti on hand? No worries – bright metallic eye shadow does the trick. An eye crayon is even better for precision purposes, like this one from Mark in Go Gold.

hippie bling

Another key to hippie bling embodient is wearing tons of bracelets at once, just make sure they look like these Kim & Zozi ones, or else you’ll only have the “bling,” not the “hippie.”

Hippie bling

You could always channel the Olsen twins in this photo – especially whichever twin is on the left. Nothing says hippie bling like embellished chiffon with a hint of Tibetan monk.

The statement necklace trend is for hippies, too. You don’t have to look like you stepped out of sorority rush week to work the trend. This ML Accessories necklace has all possible elements of hippie and bling.
