How to Remove Gel Nail Polish Yourself

Honestly, up until now, removing my gel manicures consisted of forcibly peeling off the stubborn polish along with most layers of my nails. This would leave behind thin, frail, unattractive fingernails similar to what Anne Hathaway looked like in Les Misérables. The last thing anyone needs is to be reminded of that, which is why everyone should have the knowledge of how to properly remove their gel manicures. Your nails, and ultimately the world, will thank you.

  • The acetone they use at the nail salon to remove gel manicures has a higher acetone content than the regular nail polish remover you can get at the drug store. This method doesn’t usually work for me if I use regular nail polish remover.
